The Bollywood film fraternity is reeling following a disturbing incident involving actor Tiger Shroff, who narrowly escaped harm when shots were fired at his car. The incident occurred on Sunday as the actor was departing from a public ground in Mumbai, where a large crowd had gathered to catch a glimpse of the star. According to the Juhu Police, three to four rounds were fired at Shroff’s vehicle from within the surrounding crowd. Fortunately, the actor remained unhurt, and local authorities have launched an investigation into the matter.
The news has sparked widespread concern among industry peers, with many taking to social media to voice their outrage over the deteriorating safety situation. Ranvir Shorey led the reactions, labeling the act as “shocking and disgusting.” He took to X to urge the Mumbai Police to show no mercy to the perpetrators, writing, “No mercy for the perpetrators, @MumbaiPolice! This is outrageous!” Filmmaker Rahul Dholakia also weighed in, questioning the current state of law and order in the city. He expressed frustration that criminals appear emboldened enough to threaten and shoot at will, while innocent citizens are left to bear the brunt of rising fear.
Actor Poonam Pandey shared her personal distress regarding the event, admitting she is struggling to process the news. Reflecting on the increasing number of security threats targeting Bollywood stars—citing past incidents involving Salman Khan and Saif Ali Khan—Pandey confessed she is now genuinely afraid for her own safety. She noted that Tiger Shroff is a figure known primarily for his discipline, fitness, and dance, having stayed away from controversies throughout his career. “I cannot fathom how shots could be fired at him,” she stated, adding that the industry must now exercise extreme caution.
Meanwhile, veteran actor Raj Premi, who has previously worked with Tiger’s father, Jackie Shroff, expressed his surprise at the news. Describing Tiger as a “very good guy,” Premi admitted he was initially unaware of the attack. As investigations continue, the incident has reignited a broader conversation about the security protocols surrounding public appearances of Bollywood celebrities and the need for stricter enforcement to ensure the safety of public figures in the city.
