The film fraternity is in a state of shock after a terrifying firing incident involving Bollywood star Tiger Shroff. The Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) has strongly condemned the attack, which occurred on Sunday evening shortly after the actor finished a football match. While Tiger miraculously escaped unhurt by ducking inside his vehicle, his driver was not as fortunate, sustaining gunshot wounds to his elbow and palm. The actor was immediately rushed to safety, and his driver is currently receiving treatment at Nanavati Hospital.
Eyewitness accounts suggest the chaos unfolded around 7:05 pm as fans gathered to catch a glimpse of the actor. Initially, the sound of gunfire was mistaken for Diwali celebrations, but the situation turned dire when the vehicle was targeted. FWICE has now issued a formal appeal to the Maharashtra government and Mumbai Police, demanding a thorough, time-bound investigation and enhanced security measures for Tiger and his family. The federation emphasized that such brazen acts of violence create a climate of fear, preventing artists and technicians from carrying out their professional duties without the threat of intimidation.
This incident has sparked a massive political firestorm in Maharashtra, with opposition leaders slamming the state’s crumbling law-and-order situation. Congress spokesperson Shama Mohamed alleged the involvement of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, while leaders like Sanjay Raut, Manish Sisodia, Nana Patole, and Anil Deshmukh have questioned the efficacy of the current administration. Pointing to a string of recent high-profile attacks, including the murder of Baba Siddique, critics have labeled the state’s security infrastructure as a failure. As the Juhu police continue their investigation into the three to four rounds fired at the actor’s car, the industry remains on edge, waiting for decisive action to restore safety for its members.
