Fans of the gritty vigilante drama Lakadbaggha will have to wait a little longer to see Arjun Bakshi back in action. The makers of the highly anticipated sequel, Lakadbaggha 2: The Monkey Business, have officially pushed its theatrical release from the previously planned Diwali 2026 slot to early 2027. According to the production house First Ray Films, this shift is intended to provide the team with more time to curate a grander worldwide release, ensuring the film reaches a much larger audience globally.
While the theatrical wait is extended, the film is already making waves on the international circuit. The sequel, directed by Victor Mukherjee and starring Anshuman Jha, Sarah Jane Dias, and Adil Hussain, is set to have its world premiere at the Razor Reel Flanders Film Festival in Belgium on November 7, 2026. Additionally, the team is heading to the American Film Market (AFM) this November to explore strategic options for a wider footprint in North America, signaling big ambitions for the franchiseās expansion.
To keep the momentum alive and refresh the audience’s memory, the makers have a special treat in store. The original Lakadbaggha, which introduced us to the animal-loving vigilante Arjun Bakshi, is heading back to select cinemas across India starting this November. This re-release offers a perfect opportunity for viewers to revisit the origins of the story before the sequel eventually hits the big screen next year. The follow-up promises to continue the intense journey of the protagonist as he continues his fight against those involved in animal cruelty.
