Bollywood stars Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon are stepping into the world of voice acting as they team up for the Hindi-dubbed version of the global horror hit Obsession. The film centers on Bear, a music store employee whose infatuation with his colleague, Nikki, takes a terrifying turn. Desperate for love, Bear uses a mysterious toy known as the ‘One Wish Willow,’ but his supernatural shortcut backfires, leading to a dark and frightening obsession that spirals out of control.
This project marks a professional milestone for Kriti Sanon, who noted that this is the first time she has lent her voice to another actor’s performance. Sharing her enthusiasm, the actress described the film as a gripping, quirky, and twisted tale. She admitted that exploring such an edgy character was both an exciting and challenging experience, making it the perfect debut for her foray into voice-over work. She expressed her eagerness for Hindi-speaking audiences to dive into the film’s unique narrative.
For Varun Dhawan, the dubbing process offered a fresh perspective on the storytelling. He mentioned that working closely on the Hindi version allowed him to spot subtle nuances and intricate details he had overlooked during his initial viewing of the film. The duo recently shared a fun moment on social media to promote the release, with JioHotstar dropping an Instagram video featuring the stars hilariously recreating the movie’s iconic car scene.
Originally released in Indian theatres on May 29, 2026, the film masterfully blends elements of romance with chilling horror. Fans who missed it on the big screen can catch the thriller when it begins streaming in both English and Hindi on the Peacock Hub on JioHotstar starting October 30.
