Fans of Ayushmann Khurrana and Sara Ali Khan will have to wait a little longer to catch their upcoming film, Udta Teer, on the big screen. The makers have officially shifted the release date from October 9 to October 23. According to an official statement, the decision was made to secure a cleaner release window, allowing the film to enjoy a stronger theatrical run without being squeezed out in a suddenly crowded marketplace. The team noted that the move is a strategic call to maximize the film’s reach after receiving encouraging feedback from the trailer and ongoing promotional activities.
Ayushmann, who is known for his penchant for unconventional scripts, expressed his excitement about returning to his roots with this project. The actor shared that he plays a Pakistani spy who suffers from memory loss, leading to a hilarious yet patriotic predicament. Because he forgets his true identity, his character ends up supporting India, creating a unique, genre-defying comedy that the actor believes will resonate with family audiences. He emphasized that the film reflects the original and distinct storytelling that his fans have come to expect from him over the years.
Directed by debutant Akash A Kaushik, the film features a massive ensemble cast including Rahul Bose, Ram Kapoor, Suhail Nayyar, Gulshan Grover, Mukul Dev, Raghubir Yadav, Brijendra Kala, Sandeep Anand, Supriya Pilgaonkar, and Smita Tambe. The project is backed by a powerhouse production team featuring Karan Johar, Adar Poonawalla, Apoorva Mehta, Guneet Monga Kapoor, and Achin Jain. This film marks yet another high-profile collaboration between Dharma Productions and Sikhya Entertainment, setting the stage for what promises to be a standout theatrical experience.
