Sanjay Dutt marks Gandhi Jayanti by revisiting the iconic values of Lage Raho Munna Bhai

On the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, Sanjay Dutt took a nostalgic trip down memory lane, paying tribute to the Father of the Nation with a special social media post. The actor shared a compilation of clips from his beloved film, Lage Raho Munna Bhai, which famously introduced the concept of ‘Gandhigiri’ to a new generation. By blending humour with the serious principles of non-violence and truth, the 2006 blockbuster remains a landmark in Bollywood for making Gandhian philosophy accessible and relatable in a contemporary setting.

Sharing the video with his followers, Dutt reflected on the enduring nature of these teachings. “Some values never go out of time. Remembering Mahatma Gandhiji and the ideals of truth, peace and compassion that continue to inspire generations,” he captioned the post. The film, a sequel to the massive hit Munna Bhai MBBS, followed the story of a lovable goon whose life is transformed after he begins seeing the spirit of Mahatma Gandhi, leading him to resolve conflicts through peaceful means rather than muscle power.

Beyond the film’s legacy, the day serves as a global reminder of the Gandhian struggle for independence, including historic milestones like the Salt Satyagraha and the Quit India Movement. October 2 is officially recognised as the International Day of Non-Violence by the United Nations, highlighting the global impact of the philosophy Dutt’s character championed on screen.

On the professional front, Sanjay Dutt continues to keep busy with diverse projects. He was recently seen in Aakhri Sawal, a film directed by National Award-winner Abhijeet Mohan Warang and produced by Nikhil Nanda alongside the actor himself. This follows the positive reception he received for his performance as SP Chaudhary Aslam Khan in the popular Dhurandhar franchise, proving that the veteran star remains as active and relevant as ever in the industry.
