Veteran actor Mukesh Khanna is gearing up for his return to the big screen with the upcoming film Vishwaguru. Known for being incredibly selective with his projects, the Shaktimaan icon revealed that he was immediately drawn to this script because of its compelling narrative and the powerful social message it carries. Khanna, who has maintained a low profile in mainstream cinema for years, noted that his last major theatrical release was the late Dev Anand’s Censor.
Addressing his long hiatus from the silver screen, the actor clarified that he isn’t actively chasing roles in the industry. He maintains a simple philosophy regarding his career choices: he doesn’t go looking for work, but if a script genuinely resonates with him, he is more than happy to come on board. For Vishwaguru, the decision-making process hit a slight roadblock initially due to language concerns. When approached, Khanna candidly told the makers that he did not speak Gujarati, only to be reassured that his character’s dialogues would be entirely in Hindi, clearing the way for his involvement.
Beyond the performance, Khanna is particularly passionate about the film’s broader impact on society. He believes the movie goes far beyond simple entertainment by highlighting critical issues currently facing the country. The actor has issued a strong recommendation for the audience, insisting that the film is a must-watch not just for the youth, but specifically for parents and those steering the nation’s education system. While further details regarding the plot and the official release date remain under wraps, Khanna’s endorsement has certainly piqued interest in what promises to be a thought-provoking project.
