Anil Kapoor is riding high as his recent action-drama Subedaar has officially bagged the Best Feature Film award for India at the prestigious Asian Academy Creative Awards. The veteran actor, who delivers a gripping performance as retired soldier Subedaar Arjun Maurya, has also secured a nomination in the Best Actor in a Leading Role category. Celebrating the milestone on social media, Kapoor expressed his gratitude to the team and his director Suresh Triveni, who is also up for the Best Direction trophy for this project.
Directed by Suresh Triveni and released on Amazon Prime Video, Subedaar tracks the intense journey of a soldier struggling to navigate civilian life in Madhya Pradesh. The narrative takes a turn when Arjun Maurya is forced to rely on his military training to protect his family, including his daughter played by Radhikka Madan, from local corruption. The film boasts a stellar ensemble cast featuring Khushbu Sundar, Saurabh Shukla, Aditya Rawal, Mona Singh, and Faisal Malik, all of whom contribute to the film’s powerful storytelling.
The Asian Academy Creative Awards recently unveiled 335 national winners across 18 nations, with Subedaar standing out as a significant Indian triumph alongside other regional heavyweights like China’s The Shadow’s Edge. Following this national win, the film will now advance to the international round, where the grand winners will be crowned at a star-studded gala at Singapore’s Capitol Theatre this December. With the awards showcasing the best of Asia-Pacific content, the recognition for Subedaar highlights the growing global reach and influence of Indian storytelling on the digital stage.
