Vidya took to her Instagram Stories to share the news with her fans, posting a candid picture of herself holding a script while rocking a pair of spectacles and a long braid. She captioned the post, “New Beginnings #NewTamilFilm with #RBalki,” confirming that the cameras have started rolling. While specific plot details remain under wraps for now, the announcement has sparked massive excitement among cinephiles eager to see what this pair creates after their long hiatus.
This upcoming Tamil film is just one of many high-profile projects in Vidya’s diverse pipeline. The actor is set to appear in the highly anticipated Rajinikanth-starrer Jailer 2, directed by Nelson Dilipkumar. In this film, Vidya will step into the shoes of a character named Kantha, with a theatrical release locked for October 15, 2026.
Beyond her Tamil projects, Vidya is also keeping busy in the Hindi film industry. She is set to reunite with Akshay Kumar for an untitled comedy directed by Anees Bazmee, which also features Raashii Khanna.
