Ranbir Kapoor has stepped forward to support the humanitarian efforts of Shrimad Rajchandra Love and Care (SRLC) following his recent visit to the Shrimad Rajchandra Mission Dharampur. The Bollywood star made the donation after attending the ‘Aho Gurudev’ event held at Mumbai’s Jio World Convention Centre on September 25 and 26, which celebrated the 60th birthday of the Mission’s founder, Gurudevshri Rakeshji.
During the event, a visibly moved Ranbir admitted he was left speechless by the collective energy he experienced. Addressing the audience, the actor praised the Mission’s dedication to healthcare, particularly their specialized medical services reaching the most remote corners of India. “To see specialized doctors and healthcare traveling to the remotest parts of our country, healing people, helping people, I think that’s what true spirituality is,” he shared. The actor also participated in the release of ‘Beyond – The Life and Works of Gurudevshri’, a visual biography of the founder, alongside dignitaries like Tata Sons Chairman N Chandrasekaran.
Reflecting on his own life, Ranbir noted that his journey toward spirituality has deepened recently, bolstered by his role as Bhagwan Ram in the upcoming project ‘Ramayana’ and his experience as a first-time father. He expressed his admiration for Gurudevshri’s ability to connect with the youth, calling him a “youth magnet.” The actor, who missed the Mission’s Global Youth Festival last year, confirmed he is already looking forward to visiting the ashram in Dharampur to learn more about the organization’s extensive work.
The birthday celebrations were marked by the announcement of 60 landmark projects, split evenly between selfless service and spiritual growth. The service initiatives under SRLC include massive expansions in healthcare, such as the Shrimad Rajchandra Sarvamangal Hospital and a new cancer hospital equipped with robotic surgery. Other initiatives span education, animal welfare, and women’s empowerment, with the Mission operating a vast network of medical camps, schools, and community development programs across India and internationally.
