The highly anticipated cinematic adaptation of Ramayana has given fans another reason to get excited. Following an ongoing character poster campaign, the makers have officially unveiled the look of Jatayu, the legendary bird from the epic. Titled The Wings of Dharma, the new posters offer a captivating look at the character, featuring both an intense close-up of his gaze and a majestic shot of him with his wings spread wide.
Adding star power to this mythological giant, veteran actor Anupam Kher is lending his voice to the character. Sharing the reveal on social media, the production team highlighted the bird’s symbolic significance in the story with a poignant caption: “When evil took flight, courage rose to meet it. He fought not for victory, but for what was right.” In the original epic, Jatayu plays a pivotal role by heroically attempting to rescue Sita from Ravana despite knowing the immense risks involved.
Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, this ambitious project boasts a massive ensemble cast. Ranbir Kapoor is set to play Lord Rama, with Sai Pallavi as Sita, Yash as Ravana, Sunny Deol as Hanuman, and Ravi Dubey as Lakshman. The film is produced by Namit Malhotra’s Prime Focus Studios in collaboration with DNEG and Yash’s Monster Mind Creations.
Planned as a two-part epic, the film will be released in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam. Fans can mark their calendars for the first part, which is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on November 5, while the second installment is slated to arrive during Diwali 2027.
