Bipasha Basu is officially stepping back into the spotlight. The Bollywood star has signed on for a pivotal role in ace filmmaker Hansal Mehta’s upcoming web series, marking her first major acting project following a long hiatus. Bipasha, who has been dedicated to raising her daughter Devi since her birth, has kept fans updated through fashion events and brand endorsements, but this return to the screen is undoubtedly the news her followers have been waiting for.
She won’t be carrying the project alone, as the series features an impressive ensemble cast including Sunny Kaushal and Vishal Jethwa. While the official title of the show remains under wraps, production is already in full swing. The project is being produced by Prabhleen Sandhu under the banner of Almighty Motion Pictures Productions, with a script penned by Kashyap Kapoor and Raghav Raj Kakker. The series is slated for a digital release on Prime Video.
The plot promises a gritty narrative set in a nondescript town that is rapidly spiraling into the heroin capital of the continent. Sunny Kaushal is set to lead the drama as an incorruptible cop who must navigate a dangerous web of powerful forces. As he fights to maintain his integrity and humanity against both internal and external threats, the series looks set to be a high-stakes crime thriller. With filming currently underway, fans are eagerly awaiting more details on Bipasha’s specific role in this intense new world.
