It seems Shah Rukh Khan’s charm truly knows no borders. The Slovak Ambassador to India, Robert Maxian, recently proved that he is just as big a fan of Bollywood as the rest of us. Taking a trip down memory lane, the ambassador shared a charming video of himself behind the wheel, perfectly delivering the legendary line from the 1995 blockbuster Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge: “Bade bade deshon mein aisi chhoti chhoti baatein hoti rehti hain, Senorita.”
Sharing the clip on social media, Maxian reminisced about his years spent in India, calling the film an “unforgettable blockbuster” that remains a timeless classic. He didn’t stop at just the dialogue; he tagged industry legends Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol, and Anupam Kher, while using hashtags to celebrate the enduring legacy of the film. It is a heartwarming reminder of how the movie, which follows the whirlwind romance of Raj and Simran across Europe, continues to bridge cultures even decades after its release.
Directed by Aditya Chopra, DDLJ redefined Bollywood romance by blending family values, sharp humor, and soul-stirring music. The chemistry between Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol turned Raj and Simran into an iconic pair that remains etched in the hearts of fans across generations, including Gen Z. Whether it is the unforgettable songs or the emotional weight of fighting for love, the film’s magic shows no signs of fading. With its record-breaking, long-running screening still drawing crowds at Mumbai’s Maratha Mandir, DDLJ continues to prove that some love stories are simply eternal.
