Bollywood megastar Shah Rukh Khan marked a major milestone on November 2, 2026, as he celebrated his 61st birthday. With over three and a half decades in the limelight, the actor decided to switch up his usual routine this year. Due to ongoing reconstruction work at his iconic Mumbai residence, Mannat, Khan opted for an intimate gathering with family and friends at the Taj Hotel in Bandra instead of his traditional midnight balcony appearance. Despite the change in plans, he made sure not to disappoint the fans gathered outside, stepping out to greet them with his signature waves and flying kisses.
While the man himself was at the Taj, his residence, Mannat, still played a central role in the festivities. The exterior of the bungalow was transformed into a massive LED display, showcasing visuals from his upcoming project, King. The screen also projected a heartfelt message from the superstar, which read, “Thank you all, for your wishes and love. Sending mine right back to you all. Lots of love & A big hug, Shah Rukh Khan.”
The birthday celebrations were perfectly timed with the release of the first track from his highly anticipated film, King. Titled “Tu Mil Jaaye,” the song dropped at midnight, featuring the soulful vocals of Arijit Singh and Madhubanti Bagchi, paired with an unexpected English rap segment by Ed Sheeran. The track stars Khan alongside Deepika Padukone, offering fans a first look at the chemistry to expect when the film hits theaters worldwide on December 24, 2026.
Directed by Siddharth Anand, King boasts a star-studded ensemble, including Suhana Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, Jaideep Ahlawat, and Raghav Juyal. Khan’s journey, which began in the early 1990s with over half a dozen television shows, has evolved into a global phenomenon. His ability to remain a leading force in the industry for over thirty years continues to solidify his status as one of the most popular and enduring actors in world cinema.
