Months after its massive theatrical run, Aditya Dhar’s directorial Dhurandhar continues to be the talk of the town among the film fraternity. The latest voice to join the chorus of praise is actor Nimrat Kaur, who believes the Ranveer Singh-starrer has fundamentally shifted the audience’s expectations regarding spy thrillers in Hindi cinema. According to Nimrat, the film successfully broke the mold of generic espionage stories by delivering an authentic, high-stakes narrative that has set a new benchmark for filmmakers.
Reflecting on the film’s lasting impact, Nimrat explained that once audiences get a taste of storytelling at its maximum potential, they refuse to settle for anything less. She noted that Dhurandhar has become synonymous with authenticity, forcing the industry to reconsider how it approaches the genre. “When a story is told to its maximum potential, in the most authentic way possible, it no longer becomes just another spy film. Then it’s like, oh, wow, Dhurandhar,” the actor remarked, emphasizing that future projects will now be measured against the high standards set by this blockbuster.
Directed by National Award-winning filmmaker Aditya Dhar, the film proved to be a cinematic juggernaut, amassing over Rs 3000 crore at the worldwide box office between late 2025 and early 2026. Beyond Ranveer Singh’s powerful lead performance, the movie boasts an ensemble cast including R Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, Akshaye Khanna, Sanjay Dutt, and Rakesh Bedi. As the industry continues to analyze its historic success, it is clear that the film’s commitment to realistic storytelling has left a permanent mark on the landscape of Bollywood.
