Addressing the box office discourse, Nimrat pointed out that Indian cinema is viewed as foreign-language content on the global stage, just as English films are treated as foreign-language imports within India. She noted that unless there is a rare anomaly, international films rarely capture the same massive box office numbers in India that local blockbusters do, given the disparity in budgets and reach. Asserting that the two industries cannot be measured by the same yardstick, she stated, “It’s not an apples-to-apples comparison at all.”
