The Hindi film fraternity gathered in Mumbai this Wednesday to honor the memory of veteran actor Mushtaq Khan. The beloved performer, who left an indelible mark on Indian cinema through his versatile supporting roles over several decades, passed away on September 24 at Nanavati Hospital. He had been battling cancer, and his son, Mohsin Khan, previously shared that his father’s health had deteriorated rapidly due to the progression of the disease.
Friends, colleagues, and members of the film industry turned out in large numbers to offer their final respects. The prayer meet saw a significant turnout from the industry, with attendees including Poonam Dhillon, Rajpal Yadav, Mukesh Rishi, Rahul Roy, Vindu Dara Singh, Kiran Kumar, and Sulabha Arya. Other notable figures present to remember the late actor included Akhilendra Mishra, Rakhi Sawant, Upasana Singh, Arjun Firoz Khan, Anang Desai, Gajendra Chauhan, Sunil Pal, Shahbaaz Khan, Ehsaan Qureshi, K K Goswami, Dilip Sen, Ali Khan, and Anjjan Shrivastav.
Mushtaq Khan’s passing has been deeply felt by those who worked alongside him throughout his long and prolific career in both films and television. Prior to the prayer meet, his last rites were held on September 25 in Mumbai. That service was also attended by industry veterans such as Sanjay Mishra, Manish Wadhwa, Shehzad Khan, Zaid Darbar, and filmmaker Anees Bazmee, all of whom came together to mourn the loss of a familiar and respected face in the entertainment world.
