Bollywood star Bhumi Pednekar took a spiritual detour to Ujjain this week, visiting the revered Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlinga Temple ahead of the festive Diwali season. The actor shared several glimpses of her visit on Instagram, capturing the serene atmosphere of the temple as she offered prayers to Lord Shiva. Captioning her post with “Just surrender. Jai Shri Mahakaal. Happy Diwali,” the actor described the experience as deeply fulfilling and reflective.
This visit to Madhya Pradesh is the latest in a series of spiritual journeys for the actor. Bhumi has recently been spotted at various holy sites across the country, including the Sai Baba Temple in Shirdi, the Achaleshwar Mahadev Temple, and the Srivari Temple in Tirumala, where she was accompanied by her family. Her social media updates from these locations have resonated with fans who appreciate her penchant for balancing a hectic film schedule with moments of quiet reflection.
On the professional front, the actor is gearing up for a major role in the ambitious historical epic The Pride of Bharat: Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Produced by Sandeep Singh, the two-part film features Bhumi as the courageous Queen Belawadi Mallamma, a historical figure celebrated for forming and leading one of India’s first women’s armies. She will share the screen with Rishab Shetty, who plays the titular role, alongside Arjun Rampal and Vivek Oberoi. With pre-production already in full swing and a soundtrack being crafted by musical heavyweights Amit Trivedi and Prasoon Joshi, the film is set to begin principal photography later this year.
