While attending the Los Angeles premiere of his new film Animals, the 54-year-old actor-director addressed the bizarre buzz suggesting he was being set up with global pop icon Shakira. Following his divorce from Jennifer Lopez, Affleck clarified that he is far from looking for a new romance. He admitted that his current life is entirely occupied by his career and his three children, Violet, Seraphina, and Samuel, whom he shares with ex-wife Jennifer Garner. “I work a lot and I see my kids,” he shared in a candid interview. “There’s not a lot of room outside of that. I’m not running around.”
The speculation regarding a potential match with Shakira reportedly stemmed from comments made by The View host Ana Navarro. However, Affleck was quick to dismiss the claim, noting that he had never even heard of the supposed setup until reporters brought it to his attention. He suggested that the constant gossip surrounding his personal life is likely due to the public’s fascination with single men in Hollywood, leading to stories being fabricated out of thin air. “I swear to God, I never heard that in my whole life,” he remarked, adding that he doesn’t typically get set up on dates at all.
Reflecting on his current headspace, Affleck expressed that he is genuinely content with his life’s trajectory. He emphasized that his children remain his primary focus, followed closely by his passion for filmmaking. While he remains open to whatever adventures life might bring, he is certainly not out chasing a new relationship. As for his professional life, the thriller Animals, which he co-wrote and directed, is currently hitting select theatres before its highly anticipated Netflix premiere on October 9.
