Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan maintained his long-standing Sunday tradition of greeting fans outside his Juhu residence, Jalsa, but this week’s appearance featured a noticeable change. The veteran actor stepped out to wave at the massive crowd gathered to catch a glimpse of him, but instead of his usual open-air interaction, he stood inside a transparent bulletproof enclosure. He was accompanied by his son, Abhishek Bachchan, who stood close by and kept a watchful eye on the surroundings as his father engaged with the well-wishers.
This shift in security protocol follows a recent bomb threat email that targeted the actor’s bungalow in October. The threat, which was reportedly sent to a school in the Bandra-Kurla Complex, triggered an immediate investigation by the Mumbai Police. Alongside the physical security measures, Big B has also been vocal about his health. In a recent update on his Tumblr blog, he shared that he is currently focusing on his recovery, noting that his doctors have advised him to prioritize rest over his usual online activities. “Yet more rest needed .. adjusting .. thinking and wondering .. the human body and its uniqueness,” he wrote to his followers.
Despite his health recovery, the icon remains busy on the professional front. He is currently back on our television screens hosting the latest season of the hit quiz reality show Kaun Banega Crorepati. On the big screen, the actor was most recently seen in the 2024 Tamil film Vettaiyan, where he shared the frame with superstar Rajinikanth. Fans continue to flock to his residence every Sunday, proving that even with added security and health precautions, the connection between the legendary actor and his audience remains as strong as ever.
